Transportation

If your student will be taking the bus, please arrive at the bus stop five minutes before the bus is scheduled to pick up your student. If you believe your student is taking the bus but did not receive any information, please call the school office at 293-8970 as soon as possible. Please do not wait until the first day of school.

Walking to School

If you live less than one-half mile (Grades K-5) and one mile (Grades 6-8), your child should walk from home to school.  School patrols will be at the following corners: Case/White Bear, Ames/White Bear, and Maryland/White Bear, from 7:55 am to 8:10 am, and at dismissal.  (Important:  There will be NO patrols before or after that time).   School patrols work under the supervision of the Saint Paul Police Department, assisted by School Patrol Supervisor, Robin Landowski.  Questions or concerns, call Robin at 651-293-8970.

Free and Reduced Price Meal Applications

While all in-person students will receive free breakfast and lunch under Minnesota’s Free School Meals program, it remains critical that all families complete an Application for Educational Benefits each school year. These applications determine how much funding Hazel Park receives for educational programs and supports. Additionally, eligible families can qualify for other benefits. The application can be completed online at schoolcafe.com/spps

Student Attendance

Regular attendance is essential for school success.  We monitor attendance each day and follow the Minnesota law for compulsory school attendance. Please call Robin Landowski at 651-293-8970 to report your child’s absence or if your child is going to be tardy. You did an outstanding job with your children last school year.
