About the Teacher

Mrs. Julie Baker

Hello 4th grade families, and WELCOME BACK for the new adventure of the 2020-2021 School Year! Mrs. Baker's has been a teacher at  HPPA since 2018.  She has been teaching grades 1-6 since receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education, from The College of St. Benedict/St. John's University, in 1990. Mrs. Baker completed her Masters in Teaching and Learning in 1998, from Hamline University.  

Mrs. Baker has two dogs that bring her lots of joy, named Oliver and Cache. She loves to camp, bike, read, learn new things, swim, listen to music and dance. 

Mrs. Baker and her husband live in the Twin Cities. They have 3 children. Their eldest is also a Teacher who teaches Middle School Math! One daughter works in Environmental Policy, helping to protect our earth, and her third daughter is in college.

Mrs. Baker is excited to be meeting her new class of 4th graders this year, after Looping her former group of students from 4th grade into 5th grade last year! She looks forward to a positive year of growth together in Distance Learning. Working with the amazing students we have at HPPA, as we all learn more about the world we live in, is Mrs. Baker's favorite thing about Hazel Park Preparatory Academy.
