Primary Years Program

Overview

Image

The goal of the PYP is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who can help create a better and more peaceful world through their actions. The PYP provides a framework for organizing curriculum and delivering instruction in classrooms. Primary Year Programme is for PreK through 5th grade students.

There are six Transdisciplinary Themes students will participate in throughout their PYP education and these include:

  • Who we are.
  • Where we are in place and time.
  • How we express ourselves.
  • How the world works.
  • How we organize ourselves.
  • Sharing the planet.

These themes help teachers prepare programs of inquiry within their classrooms and develop students ability to inquire about the world around them.
