Mrs. Adefunke Adekinle

My name is Adefunke Adekinle, I started teaching at Hazel Park in 2016/2017 school year as a 4^th grade teacher. I had subbed for about three years in most Saint Paul Public Schools and finally as a long term sub in 3rd grade at Hazel Park prior to my appointment. I have my first degree in Philosophy and Education from Nigeria where I started my teaching career and later obtained my Master degree in Elementary Education from Hamline University. I taught at various grade levels in Nigeria and presently teach 4^th grade.

I live in Maplewood and married to Gabriel with three lovely daughters, Eunice, Esther, and Elizabeth, all former students of Hazel Park Prep. I enjoy to be with my family and love cooking and sewing when I am not at work.

Students who are self-motivated to learn, as well those who, despite the challenges life presents to them still make it through my classroom door every day is what inspires me and gives me that sense of fulfilment. I also enjoy the spirit of community and the drive to support one another from members of staff.

Given the opportunity, the right resources, and good sense of belonging, I strongly believe that all students are capable of learning and thriving.
